Frugal Backpacker Hiking Club: Advanced Map + Compass at Linville Gorge
Learn to take bearings and read the trail with a map and compass while hiking one of the most fascinating outdoor spaces in the region. Recognizable peaks and landmarks will be used for location via triangulation. It’s roughly a three mile round-trip with a few hundred feet of elevation gain along the trail.
